The US President Donald Trump announced progress in negotiations for a trade agreement with China and predicted that the two largest economies in the world will enter into a very good deal.

Donald Trump, who spoke to White House reporters before heading for a pre-election event, has confirmed he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Argentina, at the G20 summit on November 30 and December 1.

“We had very good conversations with China. We are very close to achieving something. They really want to make a deal. I think we will get a deal with China and it will be very fair for everyone”, said Donald Trump.

Earlier, White House Economic Adviser Larry Kudlow said the US and China are not close to an agreement to resolve their trade gaps and that they are not as optimistic as before that such an agreement could be reached.

Donald Trump said that if the US can reach a fair deal with China to open its market, he wants it very much. In his words, trade will be a major topic during his meeting with the G-20 leaders’ dinner.
