The UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash said that Iran’s “aggressive policies” are largely responsible for re-imposing sanctions on the part of the United States.
On Monday, Washington will introduce significant sanctions against Iran’s key sectors – the oil and the banking sector. In this way, the United States will try to push Tehran to stop its energy and nuclear projects, as well as its support for certain players in the conflicts in the Middle East.
Most international sanctions against Iran were lifted in early 2016. This happened after an agreement between Tehran and the world forces was signed last year, prompting Iran to curb its nuclear program in exchange for lifting sanctions.
Donald Trump, however, gave up the nuclear deal approved by his predecessor Barack Obama.
The current US president says the deal is primarily for Iran, so withdrawn the United States from the pact as early as May.
